Lane Arts Council announces the second annual conference focused on arts integration in K-12 education. This year's theme "Empowering Student Voice" will explore how arts integrated learning opens doors for all students to participate, engage and grow. More information and call for proposals.

Discover how art and creativity can enrich your classroom, and dive even deeper into arts integration methods and strategies across core curriculum. This one-day institute will provide the opportunity for you to explore how to incorporate arts-based learning in your instruction, whether you are already implementing arts integrated learning or are new to ArtCore. Open to all current educators across grade levels at ArtCore schools. Current ArtCore teachers teaching 8th grade in 2017–2018 are strongly encouraged to attend.


Summer institute

August 22 - 25 2017

University of Oregon College of Education, HEDCO education Building

A four-day institute intensive that will help you dive deeper into arts integrated learning and design, and plan instruction for the 2017–2018 school year. Open to all current educators across grade levels at ArtCore schools. Current ArtCore teachers teaching 8th grade in 2017–2018 are strongly encouraged to attend. Winter Institute 



Open to all current ArtCore educators at our five participating middle schools, this institute focuses on formative assessments that encourage the creative production of the learner. The day will provide an experiential, participatory learning lab where feedback, seeking peer advice, participation, and self evaluation are explored. Using ArtCore's three creative learning strategies, teachers will walk away with creative ideas for formative assessment during the creative production of their arts integrated lessons. Current ArtCore teachers will be able to apply PDU's to this institute.  Download the Winter Institute program.

Lane Arts Council is pleased to announce its inaugural professional development conference on arts integration in secondary education. The Arts Integration Conference for Educators is inspired by our work on the ArtCore program, in partnership with the Educational Policy Improvement Center (EPIC) and five Lane County middle schools. ArtCore’s team of researchers, artists, and educators supports Oregon’s public schools in building a sustainable, school-wide learning ecology that utilizes creative expression to deepen students’ learning experiences. This conference shares the knowledge gained through ArtCore, and its practical, hands-on arts integration applications to a wider, statewide audience. Download the conference program.


Summer institute

University of Oregon College of Education 

This three-day institute built on the wisdom of Art Costa through immersion into the habits of mind and the opportunities in arts integration to make instruction habit-forming.
